Germany and South Korea agreed to set up an expert group to examine how the German reunification model might be applied to the Korean Peninsula, the German Interior Ministry said Friday. A memorandum of understanding signed by Christoph Bergner, Germany’s deputy interior minister, and Kim Chun-sig, South Korea’s deputy minister in charge of reunification affairs, said Seoul would get access to historic and government documents on Germany’s 1990 reunification. “We are willing to share our insight and experience gathered with regard to the resolution of the German question, the economic reconstruction of eastern Germany and the development of the new federal states,” Mr. Bergner said.
